DEROB CRITIC 1: “war of the worlds, in a way, failed”

IFunny, the only thing that can defeat the martians are microscopic germs! Good thing we have our own immune system, man has evolved through time to fight bad bacterias.

"The earth is compared to a splintered finger(salubsob), foreign objects should not be pulled out by force because our body will push it out in time", oh great!!!

yeah, some would say its the best movie this summer(rainy season).  But for me, its a bit disappointing.

Lets not talk about special effects, because its the only thing perfect here (theres no doubt ILM is the God of CG) .
The only thing good here is the "holocaust" thing in the first half.  You can see the Speilbergness. he really made the event very realistic.
But the latter….really disappoints, it became too typical, and the ending really just didnt work as well (ok its from a novel by H.G. wells, but i think theres a better way of executing an odd ending, not make it dull)

after watching the movie, it reminded me only one thing, the movie "Signs" (mel gibson). only better.

Speilberg focused solely on human drama, its like your watching a family soap opera with a bunch of alien tripods as a background, thats a mistake when youre expecting WAR OF THE WORLDS to be war of the worlds and not WAR OF THE PARENTS AND DISOBEDIENT CHILDREN!!!!   If he is experimenting, well in this case he did it really good.  But change the title.

My fault, i expected too much.  I thought it was as exciting and epic as "independece day" and (sorry to say) "mars attacks"

I conclude the movie was really great and exciting, its a mix of drama, horror, sci-fi, and war movie in one. It puts you on the top but then leaves you hanging asking yourself, "what happened, is that it it?". The movie must be titled "A family during war of the worlds"
The ending, though victorious, is not executed convincingly.  This movie perfects the areas where the movie "signs(mel gibson)" failed to deliver.

Twotwdummypackrgb_2read the original novel to understand the invasion(the setting was in London i think) and the story reminds you of "mars attacks".

Nice review, I think we’re on the same wavelength when it comes to reviewing movies. Malamang di magkalayo opinion natin diyan sa War of the Worlds but di ko muna siya papanoorin until mapanood ko ulit yung original movie niya for comparison.

Batman Begins palang pinakamataas ratings ko ngayon, fight scenes lang problema ko dun, ambilis.

Nag Quiapo ako and mga compilation ng DVD’s of Star Wars, ALIENS, BATMAN and BRUCE LEE films binili ko, so after work nakatunganga ako sa TV.\

-Wel, about the fight scenes, On my view, cguro, ok lang ung “mabilis” kc the movie focuses on the story as how it “begins” and not the action thing(gordon also cited the dawn of theatrical villains in the end dba). If the fight scenes would have been longer, hindi na sha nag iba sa mga previous batman. pero im sure babawi iyon sa next sequel, hindi lang tlaga bagay sa begins( kahit sa spidey 1 hndi ganun maaksyon). Well in the end, nkasalalay parin sa pagiging fan o hinde ang isang sensible review.

panget nga, havnt seen the original(ung classic) pero nadadaanan ko na ung story sa mga science books nung nerdy days ko. speilberg tried from a different angle, though he made it, hindi talaga nag click eh.
